    One of Dresden's Largest parks

The garden architect Bertram was a self-avowed advocate of the "Lenné-Meyer-school", which was characterized by the fact that it wanted to achieve above all an idealized, landscaped design quality, i. to implement the naturally occurring, supposedly arbitrary formal and structural language artistically exaggerated in the design of open spaces; but also with the partial inclusion of formal aesthetic elements. Here, however, Bertram succeeded in creating a work that almost seems to be embedded in the natural environment.

Since the restoration work in 2006, we find spatial structures, visual relationships and wayside tours almost as they did 100 years ago. The park is still today a plant of peace and relaxation, without specific game offer. In winter, however, invites the large grassy slope to play. When it's snowing, children and adults use it to toboggan in large numbers. The bastions on the walls make it possible to look down into the valley. The city skyline can be enjoyed from the Bienertwiese or, even better, from the highest point of the complex, the lookout tower reopened in 2003 on the Hoher Stein.
