Entrance to UmweltKulturPark
Its purpose is to provide entertainment and at the same time information about habitat connectivity for plants, animals and humans, which can also be transported to other sites. It must also provide space for the reintroduction of wild plants and animals.
UmweltKulturPark is designed and invested with funds from the Ruhr Nature Conservation Program and Federation fees in accordance with the principles of sustainable agriculture. One finds in it different characteristics typical of perennial agriculture again.
This includes the division of densely-used areas such as the park into less labor-intensive areas such as orchards. There are mainly old fruits and especially apple types: there are, for example, fans and chestnuts.
Plant market
On the sides of the road grow berry bushes. There was sunshine. It is built of dry stone walls facing the south and protected by hedges from the north, creating a local climate for the most sensitive crops. Other areas of the park are natural. The entire region is characterized by very large biodiversity.

Leadership
Förderverein Permakultur Dortmund e.V, founded in 1986, was founded on UmweltKulturPark in cooperation with the city of Dortmund, ensuring the preservation of structures and management of local gardens.
"The purpose of the Association is to manage nature and landscapes through increased human participation in natural relationships and the conservation or restoration of natural resources."
A special concern is the cultivation of forgotten old vegetables.
In addition, club members impart their knowledge as well as seeds, plants and, to a lesser extent, crop yields.
