The Green Zone has been harmoniously integrated into the "City Environment" and meets the diverse interests of citizens. The main intersection of light rail underground lines - station "Statgarten" - is an integral part of the wing in the center of the park.
Of course, the city garden also meets those visitors who have time and leisure to stroll, rest, sunbathe or read or have a look at flowers and plants or just for fun. Many people living in the vicinity of the city park, as well as workers, pupils and mothers with young children and the elderly are among the guests in the central green area.
Many individual parks along with open spaces and shade areas make this attractive green area:
Buergergarten
Blindengarten
Perennial plants and summer flower garden
Types of azaleas and rhododendrons
Another eye-catching fountain is a juggler designed by art professor, Eberhard Linke. This fountain is a "piece of art" donated by public facilities in Dortmund on the occasion of its 125th anniversary.
In cooperation with the Youth Welfare Office, a ski facility with a "small slope" and seating facilities have been rebuilt, which enjoys great popularity and challenges to all kinds of wonderful moves.
The city park is maintained by the municipal training company, which trains the gardens, gardeners and landscapes here.
