It is enclosed by reproduction iron railings with four double-gate entrances
The beds contain about eight mature London plane trees and a few younger ones. Some of these mature London plane trees are survivors from an earlier layout, possibly that of the 1840s. There are few shrubs; mostly the planting is of red and white roses and perennial plants including Geranium
