Open green space
The land at Percy Pit was reclaimed from former use in the coal mining industry. Percy Pit is an open green space used for walking, cycling and horse riding, with a great view of the Tyne Valley from the top of the hill. There is plenty of wildlife to enjoy, including wildflowers, tree plantations and many species of bird.
