The first ecological park in the city.
This is the city's first ecological park. Created by Coventry City Council as part of a Department of Environment reclamation scheme, it has involved topsoiling to new contours, landscaping, planting native trees and wild flowers. The park lies over what was once a coal mining area, Craven Colliery, and in the 1950s and 60s the site was used as a refuse tip. The riverside footpath is part of the Sowe Valley Walk.
