Features of different and attractive tree species
The gardens and house, named 'The Croft' were sold to Alderman Fletcher Moss in 1912. The Croft was the birthplace of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). Alderman Moss subsequently donated Fletcher Moss Gardens to the people of Manchester in 1919. Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens has retains many of its original features such as the rock and heather gardens.
