This name because of the passage of Wadi Mujib in the southern part of the reserve. It covers an area of about 212 square kilometers and extends about 24 kilometers on the shore of the Dead Sea (the lowest point in the world - 402 meters above sea level). It stretches from the Ma'an valley to the north of the valley. It ranges from 402 meters below sea level to 800 meters in highland areas East of the Anidamite Pit.
