It is located in the northern area of the municipality of Loures, in a rural area, where forest areas dominate with leafy cork oaks and large patches of Portuguese oak to which the characteristic woods of the region are associated. The Park is about 10 km from the city of Lisbon.
The partial acquisition of this space by the Municipality of Loures, in the early 80s of the twentieth century, allowed the creation of recreational equipment in which, up to the present day, sports facilities (maintenance circuit, four tennis courts, ball-wall and multi-sports) and the large picnic area in the municipality of Loures, with the capacity to receive groups of up to 2000 people simultaneously, with users from all of the metropolitan area of Lisbon. Park users currently exceed 60,000 people per year.
The park has an area for occasional camps and public spas and has a car park for users. It also has important heritage structures such as a stronghold in the Lines of Torres Vedras, an old lime kiln and an iron water mine.
Recently, and through a protocol with an external entity, the Park is equipped with an adventure park consisting of two circuits of tree climbing, slide and orientation.
