Dedicated leisure with corridors for pedestrians and bike paths
During the summer of 2006, the magnificent and innovative pedestrian bridge “Pedro and Inês” was opened, connecting the two banks of the Mondego, designed by architect Cecil Balmond and engineer António Adão da Fonseca.
A sandbox was built on the left bank, which allows the practice of beach volleyball, a basic level skatepark and various children's entertainment equipment, a picnic area and 4 pavilions, which house nautical clubs (canoeing, rowing and sailing), thus guaranteeing many sport and leisure activities.
