A green oasis
A remarkable feature of this tower and a rarity in the Netherlands is that there are special murals in the room on the first floor. The paintings are painted 'en trompe l'oeil' and give the suggestion that the viewer is in a temple. A painted weapon is located above the fireplace. Because of this the paintings can be dated around 1702, the year in which Johan Maurits van de Poll, lord of Hedel, bought the tower.
