At the place of Tyrš Gardens today, the Pernštejn race was originally buried in 1910 and turned into wet meadows, which were flooded every year. In 1931, the city hosted a national exhibition for Physical Education and Sports, which became an incentive to transform the perimeter of the castle into a 70-210 m² exhibition park. Dozens of art gallery pavilions were placed there. In addition, the Summer Stadium, Grand Hotel and Museum of Decorative Arts are built near the exhibition park. After the exhibition, the exhibition grounds served as a municipal park for social activities. For example, dance evenings took place in Rotonda on the lake until the 1960s (the last exhibition buildings were removed in 1977).
Around 1970 the park was rebuilt according to the Architectural Project J. Vaněk. In the garden grown to 150 varieties of tree species, often in most varieties, the nature trail. After creating urban areas in the 1990s, tree care decreased and the garden gradually decreased. After 2000, efforts were made to restore it.
In 2014, a comprehensive restoration of the park began.
