An extensive recreational area
The monument is designed as a boulder and is placed on a pavement of vowels. There is a plaque on the boulder. Above the text on the plaque of the large boulder are two images, namely: the emblem of the 142 Squadron Bomber Command Royal Air Force and an image of a Wellington bomber. There are six smaller boulders in the pavement, also with plaques. The name of a fallen crew member is printed on every plaque. Behind the monument is also a small brick wall. The text on the large plaque reads:
"An allied plane crashed near this place on March 26, 1942, just after midnight. It was Wellington Z1321 QT-V from 142 Squadron, Royal Air Force. This aircraft was manned by six young men. They all died in this crash.
