It is an area of the Trojan Basin on the right bank of Vltava.
It covers an area of 578.8 hectares. Prague's National Committee declared the Tranquility Zone on November 1, 1990. Then, in 1992, it was moved to the Natural Park category thanks to the new law (No. 114/1992 Coll.). The reason for this declaration was to protect the natural nature (rocky steppe societies).
