Austria's natural parks represent a variety of distinctive landscapes, which are untouched by nature, their natural and cultural features, as well as a wide range of possibilities to experience and understand nature. There are currently 47 natural parks in Austria covering an area of about 500,000 hectares. However, the number of areas that want to become a natural park is constantly increasing, which is why there are currently a number of nature park projects all over Austria
