There are various works of art in the park
In the park stands a sandstone memorial column in the style of the Neo-Renaissance (1874) on a headland between the ponds in memory of Hendrik Jan van Heek. There is also the war memorial of Enschede: a sculpture group by Mari Andrissen where the ceremony of the national commemoration of the dead takes place every year on 4 May.
In addition to the monuments there are many animal and plant species in the park.
The park also contains many types of shrubs and perennials. A special feature of the public park is that 10,000 annual plants, 5000 bulbs and 5000 biennials are planted in the beds every year. It is always a colorful whole. At the end of May, the Liriodendron (tulip tree) that is standing at the bridge flowers.
