  Sophivka National Park of Dendrology is a research institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, created and operational with the aim of conducting scientific research aimed at acquiring and using new knowledge in the fields of natural sciences and preserving them, transferring scientific, scientific and technical knowledge to the stage of practical use and preparation of highly qualified scientific personnel Meeting the social, economic, cultural needs and innovative development of Ukraine.
  
  For the Soviivka National Chess Park, scientific, scientific, technical and environmental activities are the main activities.
  
  The Research Institute was founded on the basis of the historical park "Sofiyivka", which was founded in 1796 by a Polish pole S. Potocki. The current area of ​​the park is 179.2 hectares. As a scientific institution run by the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since 1955 in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 26.09.1955-1144.
  
  The Research Center status of the nursery was granted by decision of the Presidency of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine No. 26 of January 23, 1991.
  
  The Research Institute Center is awarded Resolution of the Presidency of the National Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union No. 68 of April 6, 2005.
  
  Sovievka National Chess Park - a prominent monument to landscape art in the late eighteenth century - early nineteenth century of global importance, and a monument to build gardens and architecture in Ukraine, was registered in the Official Register of National Cultural Heritage No. 12 on the basis of the decree issued Cabinet of Ukraine on 12/8/1992 No. 466), Museum of Nature and Landscape Art. According to the Law of Ukraine "On the Nature Reserve Fund", the National Chess Park "Sofiyivka" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is the target of Ukraine's Natural Reserve Fund which has the status of a tree park of national importance. Collections of plants of the national tree "Sofiyivka" were entered by decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 11.02.2004-73 in the National Heritage Register. According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine issued on February 28, 2004 No. 249/2004 “On awarding the" Sofiyivka "in the Ukrainian" National ", the national park is called" Sofiyivka "of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
  
  The National Chess Park "Sofiyivka" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is a state-owned scientific, national and environmental institution funded and budgeted by the state and managed by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and is part of the Department of General Biology of NAS in Ukraine.
