    A playground in Kiruna

The railway park has a characteristically characteristic expression with winding corridors, which derive from the romantic park ideal of romance. Vegetation zones between railways and buildings were also part of today's fire safety solutions.

The railway park was also part of Kiruna's urban plan, where parks were placed where vegetation already existed, rather than in other cities with landscaped parks. The land is also hilly and in the park there is a small ravine which meant that the area had not been easy to build either. The ravine is described in an inventory of vegetation as early as 1909. Although the railway park was planned from the beginning, it did not come to be built until the latter part of the 1910s. The Pavilion in the Railway Park was erected in 1940 after drawings by Eskil Jansson.
