    A large cultural and recreational park in the regional center of Sumy

    The cultural institution of the city, one of the favorite places of leisure and entertainment for citizens and visitors to the city. The fighter pilot is named after three times Soviet hero Ivan Nikitovich Kuzidub.

    The Park regularly hosts exhibitions, festivals and other cultural events. Sumy people have a famous name for the park called "Adult", rather than "Children" - "Friendship" and "Fairy Tale" gardens on both sides of Shevchenko Street.

    Kozheduba Park is located in the heart of Sumy City - to the east and south, bordered by the Pslom River, to the west - and partially bordered by the Gagarina Street building, in fact with access to Kirov Street.

    The central entrance of the park - to the north - is located near one of the busiest intersections of the city of Sumy - the century of Pokrovskaya Square, the street of Heroes of Stalingrad and Kharkiv. A memorial stone with a painting and a monument in honor of Ivan Kozidub is built at the central entrance of the garden.

    The city's beach is located in the southeastern part of the park on the banks of Psala on the natural peninsula. This part of the park, Prokofiev Street, track and field square is combined with a pedestrian bridge.

    The garden also has many attractions, including the Ferris wheel; various wooden sculptures. In the warm season, there is a ballroom where there are different discos.

    In fact, one of the best jubilee stadium in the country is located between the park and Gagarin Street.

    The park is still green - more than 30 species of trees and shrubs.
    From the history of the park

    IM Kozhedub Culture and Recreation Park is located on the grounds that included one of the first city gardens of Sumy - Leshchynsky Park, which was destroyed in 1905.

    Sumy city of culture and entertainment was founded in 1933 by the Soviet Union.

    In both the Soviet era and today, the Kozidop Culture and Recreation Park has been a permanent holiday destination such as Massiliana, Victory Day, City Day, Independence Day and more. These days, the park is full of visitors, and there are many popular events and festivals. But even on weekdays, there are few people in the park seeking to escape the bustle of the city.

    Even before 1991, tourist attractions were installed in the Park-Ferris wheel and others. They are currently in operation (late 2000s). The park itself has been renovated several times over the years of Ukraine's independence, and is now an organized and organized urban cultural institution.

    Thus, in 2001, the construction of the city's central stadium "Jubilee" was completed, and at the same time, a commemorative plaque was created at the central entrance in honor of Ivan Kozidub on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

    Separate activities were organized to organize the Kozidub Culture and Recreation Park to celebrate the 350th anniversary of Sumy, especially in 2004 a monument to Ivan Kozidub at the central entrance. In April 2009, the park was renovated with the help of a clean city charity fund.

    Since 2009, the park has been decorated with beautiful flowering wood carvings - portraits of literary figures - "The Three Heroes", a fun quartet of fairy tale, the great president of the Black Sea, and the city festival "Magic Flower - City of Sumy", the opening day of the wooden statue. It became permanent. Also, as part of the city day celebrations, a row of garden entrance columns was opened.
