About Park

  • Preview

The park are a well-known landmark in Malmö

The park was built in the 1970s at the same time as the Kroksbäck and Holma residential areas were built. It was built on agricultural land and the characteristic hills for the park were created by the shafts from the housing construction. In the then very open park, trees and bushes were planted around corridors and pitches.

During the 1980s, the trend was to make the parks more natural, something that was also adopted in the northern part of the Kroksbäcksparken which took on a more natural design. Here, among other things, more long-lived tree species were planted. The park thus became even more varied.

In the 1990s, the dams in the northern part of the park and north of the hills were created a butterfly park, a natural planting that favors the occurrence of butterflies.
