Lenin Komsomol Park for Culture and Entertainment
Planning of the park began in 1952 due to the fact that the Sherpakov Central Park for Culture and Entertainment could not independently meet the needs of the city. The project covers an area of 180 hectares. The project included: Nobles Alley, Grand Achievement Pavilion, Swimming Pool, 3500-seat Green Theater, Smooth Grass Carpet with 2 Rows of Sculpture Groups.
In October 1955, the Executive Committee of the Stalin Regional Council took a decision on "a ten-year plan for the establishment and development of green areas for cities and villages operating in the Stalin region for the period 1955-1964". As a result, in 1956, developed a garden. The original plan is being modified as part of the development area. Work on landscaping began in April 1957.
The park was named after Maxim Gorky because of the fact that June 18, 1956 marks the twentieth anniversary of the writer's death. On October 25, 1958, an alley dedicated to the 40th anniversary of VLKSM was created. This name eventually replaces the name Gorky and the park's name begins with the 40th anniversary of VLKSM. In 1961, a reservoir was created in the floodplains of the Kalmius River. On the banks of the tank, a boat rental station and a beach are created. In May 1972, the Executive Committee of Donetsk City Council agreed to change the name to "Culture and Recreation Park". Lenin Komsomol.
City Park for Culture and Rest
In the summer of 2006, FC Shakhtar and Turkish company Inca signed a contract to build the Donbass Arena in the park named after Shakhtar. Lenin Komsomol. Digging began, a large number of trees were cut. The old garden was destroyed. By decision of the Donetsk City Council / 4/25 of 11 September 2006, the new park was named "Donetsk Cultural and Recreational Park". In April 2009, the club's president, Rinat Akhmetov, in addition to the players and trained staff, began the new garden by planting new trees. The park consists of a large number of unique objects. The total number of plants exceeds 77,000, about half of them are roses. All the trees were specially brought from Germany's oldest nurseries to Lappen and Lorburg, aged between 20 and 30 years. Interesting things also appeared, such as: a rock garden - a unique landscape object, a granite ball spinning on the water, and a collection of fountains.

The park contains a children's railway named Priklonsky (opened on May 19, 1972), Youth Palace "Yunost" (opened in 1975 at the entrance to the park), exhibition complex "ExpoDonbas" (opened in 1983), monument "Liberators of Donbass" "May 8, 1984), Memorial to Fallen Afghan Fighters (opened May 7, 1996), Amusement Park, Fairy Tale, Victoria Hotel Complex, Donbass Arena Stadium (opened August 29, 2009), Friendship Bridge (opened on September 19, 2010), Music Park (The second opened on August 28, 2011).
