It was created as an experimental botanical garden for agriculture

Built between 1869 and 1875, Villa Comunale was created as an experimental botanical garden for cultivation by Ignazio Rozzi, and for this reason there are many varieties of plants inside, including those from countries other than Italy.

With the 1970s, with the gradual decline of the Botanical Garden and the dissolution of the Regional Economic Society, the Civil Administration took steps to build a large yard and city park. Despite a long dispute in the acquisition of the public benefit of the area, executive work ended in 1888 for the municipal villa and in 1901 for Pisa Garibaldi.

Within the gardens, a building still owned by the province, which the Economic Society, since 1842, has also turned into its headquarters was also included. Due to a new restructuring, this building seemed to be the seat of the Civil Art Gallery due to a new restructuring.
