Italian Garden - a decorative garden located on the west side of the Krakow Bishops' Palace in Kielce. It was built together with a building erected on the initiative of Bishop Jakub Czekik, modeled on castle gardens, which were situated inside the defensive walls.
The garden was designed on the extension of the axis of the palace building leading to the Powder Tower. A well was dug between the escarpment and the tower. In the central part there were four symmetrically placed quarters planted with herbs and blooming flowers, and the whole was surrounded by fruit trees. A one-flight staircase adjacent to the palace loggia led to the garden. Right next to the palace wall was the Giardino Segreto, i.e. a separate small decorative garden available only to the owner, which could be accessed from the apartment via a staircase in the alcove.
