The Garden takes its name from the esplanade located on the side of the Palace of Justice, which was dedicated to the practice of the game of mail, ancestor of croquet. Today, this space is acclaimed by petanque players.
The entrance of the Garden, materialized by a monumental porch, testifies to the prosperity of the textile city of the XVII and XVIII centuries. This porch, carved on both sides has a decor of imposing proportions.
