About Park

The largest enclosed park in Europe

Monza Park was created on 14 September 1805 by the will of Emperor Napoleon to make it an agricultural real estate model and hunting reserve. Construction began in 1806, at the request of Viceroy Eugene Bohrhars, on land north of the villa and royal gardens commissioned by the Austrian Maria Theresa as early as 1777.
In the past decade, after some track safety interventions, the Lombardy region, in collaboration with interested municipalities, the Parco del Valle del Lampro and the Milan Supervisory Authority, has developed a three-year program of extraordinary interventions to redevelop the park and the structures it contains, which They include, among other things, forest rehabilitation, restoration of historic villas and farms, and improved use of the garden.
