The current name was established by the first democratic city council, which replaced the old name of "Glorieta de los caídos".
With an area of 3,500m, this park can be considered the only representative of the public gardening of the mid-twentieth century in the city, as it has almost been transformed. Thus, the visitor can enjoy vegetal species such as the Cycas revoluta and the trees.
