The Cittadella was designed by Alessandro Farnese at the end of the 16th century and was inspired by the city of Antwerp by Francesco Paciotto.
The castle, built by the Dominican engineers Giovanni Antonio Stirbio de Brunelli and Gencio Brichani in collaboration with Samiraldo Smeraldi, was a place to defend the existing authority and is now a prisoner of torture.
Used as barracks, has recently turned into a public park. Among the old buildings, the castle maintained the pentagonal design and doorway (1596), prepared by Simone Moschino by GB Carrera. Under the entrance porch, when entering the right, one can observe the presence of a witness with the image of the Neibert Conte for comfort, possibly by T. Bandini.
Services within the garden include sports courts, a children's play area with horseback riding, a fountain, sports trails, a runway, a dog area and a bar.
