The Vantiano Forest, located to the south-west of the Reggio Valle, is surrounded by a thick pine forest dominated by Aleppo pine, which is associated with the typical jewels of the Mediterranean village.
Inside it maintains an interesting rupee village of the Middle Ages, and is still taught a little too because there is no presence of the frescoes, which always formed the first interest, often the only interest of scientists. In this, as in many similar cases, instead of the extraordinary attention to reading the relationship between man and his land, to study how the environment adapted to the choice of settlement and how its role was conditional.
Old Ventiano quarries open at the mouth and on one side of the homogenous valley, characterized by a detailed and complex system of quarries, even large dimensions and at different levels. The period of use of quarries can be attributed to different periods where it is easy to see them from the various marks left by mining activity on the rock walls, with typical signs of manual extraction that differ greatly from those attributed to the use of machines.
