    One of Rome's parks

Owned by Barberinis from the mid-17th century and then by Maffeo Sciarra, it was converted in 1902 by the new owner, Giorgio Vortes, according to the new Baroque taste in vogue at that time, and handed over to the heirs to Benito Mussolini in 1930. In the first decade From 2000, repairs were made to restore the noble casino to its former glory, the various fountains that decorate the villa, the fountain of the Greek god, the Diana fountain and the Edmond, etc .; the innovative selective brush of faith, the tree exborra, one of the most suggestive angles of the villa.

Mons occupied the area where the villa, which had been kept by ancient gardens and gardens since ancient times, was acquired in 1575 by Mons Innocenzo Malvasia, who built the Malvasia Casino, now on land owned by the American Academy.
The construction of the walls of Gianiculins, conducted under Pope Urban VIII in 1642-44, greatly strengthened the complex and transformed it into an urban villa.
In 1647 it was donated by Domenico Vante to Cardinal Antonio Barberini, owner of the Malfacia casino, while in 1710 he was sold to Cardinal Pietro Otoboni, who kept him very carefully until his death (1740). His interest in the villa led to the construction of three new gardens, to expand the cultivation of fruit and vegetable plants, ornamental and exotic plants, and to encourage some important excavations in the area of the Syriac temple (1720).
The villa became the property of the Sciarra family, and was enlarged and decorated with the purchase of the Crescenzi vegetable garden (1811) and the establishment of numerous artifacts for service.
In 1849, in the time of the Roman Republic, the casino of Barberini and the casino of Malfacia were heavily damaged by the fighting between the Italian troops led by Giuseppe Garibaldi and the French forces. Barberinis restored the casino in its original form, but the property was finally lost by Maffeo II Sciarra after incorrect financial speculation. The land surrounding the villa was then divided into a lot for a building area. The villa, after noisy events, was purchased in most of the Roman villas on May 15, 1902 by Giorgio Fortes, an American lover of gardens, and by his wife Henrietta Tower, the rich heir of Filadefia .
Wurts, to recreate the scenario of an Italian baroque villa, is located in the famous 18th-century sandstone statues, from Visconti Castle in Brignano d'Adda, in the Bergamo district. The argument of sculptural groups - symbolized by subjects such as the embodiment of the months, Apollo and Daveny, Ban and Serenja, Diana and Endemion - penalizes seasons and productive activities of the Earth. In 1906, the construction project of Castellito began in the new Gothic style, and was implemented in 1908-1910, in 1908 began the construction of the entrances of Via Calandrieli. In 1910, Belvedere was added with an open loggia with the underlying nymphaeum to the new enclosure project, today only partially preserved.
In 1930, after her husband's death, Henrietta Wurts donated the villa to Benito Mussolini, setting the condition for a public park.
During 2004-2005, restoration work was carried out on the green areas of the park.
