One of the features of Van Raemdonckpark is the large pool, which includes a peninsula with many birds that breed.
Typical also a large variety of trees and shrubs, which grow against the raised rail reservation. You can see the types of oak, birch, pine, hazelnuts and less common like the locust tree, the European jodas tree and the Japanese arcades. Along the waterfront we find swamps, marshes and willows. There is also plenty of room for fishermen along the banks of the pond.
