In 1818, the banker of Berlin Joseph Mendelson, the eldest son of Moses Mendelssohn, bought a wine factory in Horsheim from the heirs of Hoferat Fritz. His son Benjamin built the palace, and through acquisitions, the estate was eventually 70000 grapes. In the late summer of the harvest, the family came to Horsheim. His nephew, Felix Mendelson Bartholdi, was also a frequent visitor here. His piano concerto ended at 2 in Horchheim.
Many famous guests such as Alexander von Humboldt or the Poissieri brothers stayed here. At the beginning of the 20th century, the property was donated to Kaiserswerth, where two railway lines and one main street cut off the site. It was used as a home for comfort. After the sisters abandoned the palace, a changing story followed a fire in the roof of the truss in 1969.
Then it was demolished. The Protestant Church still uses the tea house built by Claudius von Lasols in 1830, which he acquired in 1920 as "Lutherkirche".
The cafe is located at Reiffenbergstraße 8 in Koblenz-Horsheim.
