The castle park in Moers is one of the most beautiful and species-rich landscaped gardens on the Lower Rhine. The plant, which emerged from the former Wintgen estate, was built in several sections. The eastern part of the park was created in 1836 by the gardening director Maximilian Friedrich Weyhe from Dusseldorf. The western part is an extension of 1874 by the horticulturist and Weyhe pupil Peter Hermann Nickerz. In 1910, the western part was created by the transformation of a vegetable and orchard, the so-called Landratsgarten. In 1929, the rock garden was created in the "Wingert". In 1932, the former playground in the south was converted into a green space, considerably expanding the entire area.
