Nature conservation areas in Bremerhaven
The nature reserve is located in the south of Bremerhaven within the protected landscape area "Surheide-Süd / Ahnthammsmoor", which was declared in July 1984. In the south it borders the railway line Bremerhaven-Buxtehude. The nature reserve is dominated in the west by oak birch forest with richly developed cabbage and shrub layer and in the east by wet to wet grassland and boggy pagans. In the forest area smaller marshes, reeds and willow bushes are embedded. On grassland there are blue and pipe grasses. Furthermore Hochstaudenfluren and Schilfröhrichte can be found.
