City park = cultural park
The northern part of the city park is an extension of the Cultuurcentrum. This zone includes the highest concentration of artworks. Next to the entrance of the CCha is a square with space for an outdoor stage. This makes it possible to organize cultural outdoor shows. At the Kunstlaan, the park slowly changes into a more urban atmosphere.
City park = sports and game park
The central part of the park has a more open and active character. This with the aim of creating space for sports and games, but also for events. The eye catchers are two elongated benches that overlook the entire park. Near the terrace of the Cultuurcafé there will be two new play areas, one for toddlers and one for older children.
City park = nature park
Nature has more freedom in the southern part. This zone includes the highest concentration of trees. Those looking for peace and quiet will find it in this part of the park. There are various wadis scattered about what we ourselves call the Helbeekbosje. In case of heavy rainfall, these buffer the excess water in the park. There is also a dog meadow in this part.
