The provincial park Ofenerdiek was opened with a large-scale festival program on Sunday, May 6, 2018, starting at 11 o'clock last year. This includes a multi-functional sports stadium, beach volleyball facility and climbing landscapes. There are many seating options and the Swarte Moor Lake has a new beach area with lighting.
"With this very attractive entertainment offer, we are greatly enhancing the neighborhood and making life here better and more interesting," said Lord Gurgen Krugman, Mayor of the city. "In Overnidek, more than 20,000 people are living, all of whom can benefit from this new offer."
The population has planned
Neighborhood residents participated in the planning, in 2016, there were many workshops where they could formulate their ideas. Arbeitsgemeinschaft Ofenerdieker Vereins (AGM) began a fundraising campaign when it became clear that all the wishes of the city could not be met. In the meantime, € 25,000 has been raised. Recently, the General Assembly donated four fitness equipment from this product.
The city spends 500,000 euros
The city of Oldenburg spent 500,000 euros for the entire procedure. "The money has been invested well, because the quality of life in the region is increasing," says Gabriel Nissen, director of urban planning. Also this year the area will be extended. In June, work will begin on the seating platform in front of the seat.
