Park-like green area
The Erfurt Hirschgarten is today a place of recreation for the provincial capital. In the center of the city between tram and commercial streets, it offers tired Erfurtern and tourists not only ample seating to rest, but also a pleasant environment to switch off a bit.
The deer garden was created in connection with the construction of the Mainz Lieutenancy. Around 1780, the city's first public park was created here, planted with special botanical species.
