The Indetal Nature Reserve covers a grassland area with wet meadows, which is a biotope for many endangered animal and plant species. It is located in a depression between the village Krauthausen in the south and the Brander district friend in the north along the creek Inde. The eastern border represents the former water mill Komerich. To the west the area is bordered by the state road 258.
In the past, the water wealth of the area was used to operate water mills. In the area of the nature reserve is still the Komericher mill. She had two water wheels, which provided the energy for the spinning mill. Only in 1928 they were replaced by electric motors. The originally 400 m long mill trench is still partially preserved.
