It is on the list of conservation areas in the city of Kiel
In June 1950, the open-air cinema was opened. It had several tenants and was renovated several times, most recently in 1993. It is the second largest open air theater in Schleswig-Holstein with over 2000 seats. The open-air theater is home to the Kiel Festival, the concert festival "tremendously quiet." The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival also has events here every year.
