A German park based in Chemnitz
The public green space is located near the birthplace of Frei Otto in Rosmarienstraße 23. The architect grew up in Siegmar and visited the local school. In 1943 he began studying architecture at the Technical University of Berlin, had to interrupt this by the turmoil of the war, it continued in 1948, including in the United States. Already at that time he was fascinated by the possibilities of designing objects in lightweight construction and innovative roof structures. He realized his dream of flying with his "floating" buildings on the ground.
