The public parking areas within the area are currently 110.8 hectares, other areas take u. a. Allotments, agricultural areas, sports facilities and ponds. The southwestern part partially takes on the features of a forest and provides protection for a wide variety of wild species. There are also remains of the old Landwehr. The northeast is more rural and is traversed by various wildflower meadows. In the northwestern part there is a natural bathing facility, several ponds and fish ponds, as well as various small biotopes. According to earlier plans, a 36-hectare lake with an island, for which the name "Lehndorfer See" was planned, was to be built in the northeast of the West Park in the future. So this was also found in old models of the Weststadt.
