The park is characterized by a 83.5 meters above NHN lying former bastion hill, which is thus about 14 meters above the level of the Eastern Umflutgrabens. The hill is thus the highest terrain point within the flood trenches. He can be reached in several ways. On the hill there is a seating area with granite benches and a children's playground. North of the hill is the former "Haeckels Garden House", a building of early classicism, but was spun out of the park. The trees are partly single, partly in groups. Many occurring in the park tree species such as persimmon and hackberry are not native. At the southern edge of the park there is a monument to the composer Franz Abt. The statue The Standing - Love for the Full Moon by Kurt Edzard is located in the southern part of the park.
