Reflects the liaison between culture and landscape
The part of the garden behind today's Landstallmeisterhaus was designed as a pleasure ground according to the English model - a castle or flower garden landscaped in a landscape. In the Pleasure Ground of Wickrath Castle, the intention to design is achieved through picturesque groups of trees and woody trees, but also through ornamental beds, and the lawns and meadows are also important design elements in the park.
The Wickrather castle park is garden-historically between a baroque garden and a landscape park. Among the (late) Baroque elements is the geometrization of nature. The original English landscape park is the Pleasure Ground, which was reproduced in German-speaking countries with the terms "pleasure garden" or "amusement park".
