Outside the castle to the Hardtwald is a castle garden with an ancient botanical garden in the west and a pheasant park in the east.
The palace garden under Carl Marhill Wilhelm was designed by Christian Thrane gardener from 1731 to 1746 in the French Baroque style. He was succeeded by the Duke of Karl Karl Friedrich areas in the park by the gardener Saul and Müller, and finally from 1787 by the inspector of the designated park of England Friedrich Schueckardt after the English models turned. On the occasion of the Federal Garden in 1967, the Castle Park was renovated and developed in an English-English garden style.
