A symbol of the city and a highly frequented recreational area
In 2017, the district government of Cologne had announced that it will make the Rheinauenpark a historic monument. The entry in the list of monuments of the city of Bonn took place on December 21, 2017. Since then, the Rheinaue is subject to the law on monument protection. The varied uses of recreation, sports and leisure activities and even large events will continue to take place there.
