On the southern slope in front of the backdrop of the university buildings is the Botanical Garden. On the one hand it serves for teaching and research purposes, on the other hand it also offers the public an interesting insight into the different areas of botany with its terraced plantings. A guided tour leads the annual approximately 350,000 visitors through the various departments of the Botanical Garden, such as: morphology (shape of plants), crops, the alpinum or geobotany.
