It has one of the longest fountains in Europe
In the Great Garden there is the last artistic work of the French sculptor Nikki de Saint-Vall. Between 2001 and 2003, her collaborators decorated the three-room kiosk with inscribed quilts, mirrors and several colored statues. The eight-sided chamber is divided from the middle chamber to the right and left. Each of the two rooms ends with a small, patterned fountain with a statuette.
In 2009, the municipality of Hannover and Volkswagen's charity association agreed to participate in the drainage of the park for 99 years. The Volkswagen Foundation has reconstructed the palace according to the original drawings. The work was completed and the palace was opened in January 2013, and became a hall for scientific conferences.
